Core Principles

Every Asia Chat user agrees to follow these fundamental principles:

• Obtain Consent: Ensure your conversation partner is comfortable with topics and the direction of interaction. Respect boundaries immediately when expressed.
• Be Authentic: Represent yourself honestly. Do not impersonate others or use misleading profiles.
• Stay Safe: Protect your personal information and exercise reasonable caution when interacting with strangers.
• Report Concerns: Help maintain community standards by flagging behavior that violates these guidelines.

Expected Behavior

We encourage users to:

• Engage in friendly, interesting conversations
• Be open to different perspectives and cultures
• Listen actively and show genuine interest in others
• Use polite language and avoid offensive terms
• End conversations gracefully when needed
• Support others if you witness harassment or misconduct
• Follow local laws and respect cultural differences
• Keep the platform enjoyable for everyone

Prohibited Behavior

The following actions violate our community guidelines and may result in account suspension or permanent ban:

• Harassment and Bullying: Any form of intimidation, threats, stalking, targeted insults, or hate speech based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
• Sexual Content: Displaying, requesting, or sharing sexual material, including nudity, sexual acts, or sexually suggestive poses. This applies to both video and text communication.
• Illegal Activities: Discussing, promoting, or facilitating illegal acts including but not limited to drug trafficking, fraud, theft, or exploitation.
• Violence and Harm: Threatening, glorifying, or inciting violence against individuals or groups. Sharing graphic violent content is strictly prohibited.
• Child Exploitation: Any content or behavior involving minors in sexual contexts. We have zero tolerance for such material and will immediately report to law enforcement.
• Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else, including celebrities, public figures, or other platform users.
• Spam and Advertising: Unsolicited promotional messages, links to commercial websites, multi-level marketing schemes, or requests for money/gifts.
• Recording and Distribution: Recording, screenshotting, or streaming conversations without clear consent from all participants. Sharing private conversations outside the platform without permission.
• Malicious Behavior: Attempting to hack, phish, spread malware, or exploit vulnerabilities in the platform. Sharing suspicious links that could compromise user security.
• Self-Promotion Abuse: Repeatedly sharing social media handles, personal websites, or other platforms to build external followings. Genuine sharing between friends is fine; systematic solicitation is not.
• Disruption: Intentionally disrupting conversations with offensive behavior, trolling, or spamming to degrade the experience for others.

Content Boundaries

While Asia Chat encourages authentic conversation, certain topics and expressions cross the line:

• Avoid graphic descriptions of violence, even if presented as "news" or "stories"
• Do not share pornographic or sexual material of any kind
• Refrain from using slurs, derogatory terms, or dehumanizing language
• Do not discuss illegal drug manufacturing or distribution methods
• Avoid promoting extremist ideologies or hate groups

When in doubt, err on the side of caution. If a conversation naturally drifts toward sensitive topics, proceed respectfully and be prepared to change the subject if your partner seems uncomfortable.

Enforcement Process

When we become aware of guideline violations, we take appropriate action:

1. Review: Reports are reviewed by our moderation team, who assess context and severity.
2. Action: Depending on the violation, actions may include: warning, temporary suspension (1-7 days), longer suspension (1-30 days), or permanent ban.
3. Appeal: Users may appeal decisions through our Contact page. We'll review appeals promptly.
4. Escalation: Severe violations (child exploitation, threats of violence) result in immediate permanent ban and may be reported to authorities.

We strive for fairness but reserve the right to make final determinations about guideline enforcement. Multiple violations in a short period typically result in escalating penalties.

Reporting Violations

If you encounter behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it immediately:

• Click the "Report" button during a conversation
• Provide details about what happened and when
• Include the username if available (though you may not have it in random chat)
• Submit the report – our team reviews all submissions

False reporting (deliberately filing reports with no valid violation) is also against the guidelines and may result in consequences for the reporter.

What Happens After You Report?

After submitting a report:

• You'll receive a confirmation that your report was received
• Our team reviews the incident, which typically takes a few hours to 24 hours depending on volume
• If action is taken against the reported user, you'll be notified (though specifics may be limited for privacy reasons)
• The reported user may be temporarily suspended during investigation to protect the community

Your Responsibilities

As a community member, you share responsibility for maintaining a positive environment:

• Familiarize yourself with these guidelines and the Terms of Service
• Follow the rules even when others don't
• Don't retaliate against rule-breakers – report instead
• Be honest in your reports
• Accept that moderation decisions are made in good faith to protect the community

Appealing a Moderation Decision

If you believe a moderation action against your account was made in error:

• Contact us via the Contact page within 30 days of the action
• Provide your username, date of action, and explanation of why you believe it was an error
• Include any relevant context or evidence
• Our team will review and respond, typically within 5-7 business days
• Final decisions rest with Asia Chat moderation leadership

Guideline Updates

These guidelines may be updated periodically to address new challenges or clarify expectations. Continued use of Asia Chat after updates constitutes acceptance. We'll notify users of significant changes through platform announcements.
